The week of April 1 is always bustling on social media. Left and right, you'll find announcements of the most bizarre new products and services. But who really stood out this year? We have made an overview of the 10 most unique and liked jokes of this year.

#1 The 'Custom Cats' of Customs Netherlands

On Instagram and LinkedIn Customs Netherlands announces the entry into service of sniffer cats. The cats would start working as “Custom Cats” from 1 April. But why cats? According to the report, cats are more agile and agile than their current comrades; sniffer dogs. In addition, it would be an advantage that they can sneak well and thus secretly search.

#2 The Flitsmeister parking doll

Also on Instagram seen: Flitsmeister comes with a parking doll for people who want to park for a short time. #3 Lucas & Steve in front of De Efteling

The Efteling comes with an update to their iconic Carnival Festival attraction. The music will be overseen by none other than DJ duo Lucas & Steve and will lead the attraction. The gondolas have to go faster to connect to the new sound and speakers are built in to ensure that the vibration of the music can be felt.

#4 Everything Is Love & Passion by Albert Heijn

Named after both Everything Is Love (the well-known 2007 romcom). Just like the love and passion breads that the AH sells. The first Albert Heijn film would premiere on April 1. Since 2014, supermarket manager Ilse has been the face of the supermarket chain, and the rest of the family has been added since then. For example, the “movie poster” also shows her husband.

#5 Maxi sizes by Etos

Also from Ahold: Etos. In a Rules video from 1 April, they announce that they will not sell their most popular products in mega, but in maxi formats. Like an extremely large pot of magnesium citrate or a lipstick of almost 2 meters: “easy, sustainable and practical”, they say.

#6 Yamuda by Coolblue

Dirk supermarkets addresses one of their customers' biggest annoyances. Through a Instagram post they announce that they will use a fast lane and a slow lane in their stores. In this way, they hope to make shopping in their supermarkets more efficient for their visitors.

#8 New York Pizza and EasyToys Lubricant

The collaboration we didn't know we needed. New York Pizza and EasyToys are joining forces and announcing that they are launching a line of new lubricant flavors.

#9 Lidl's free toilet roll meter

From now on, you can save up for free toilet rolls at Lidl supermarkets, that's what they say Instagram to see. Following the success of their previous savings system, which allows customers to save for free products. When you spend 25 euro, you already get 1 roll for free!

#10 14 euro tickets from Walibi

At 1-4, stunt amusement park Walibi with tickets for only €14. Via TikTok and Instagram they announce that on April 1, at 14:00, they will sell tickets for only 14 euro each for one hour. A ticket normally costs from €32.50. (Edit: They really lived up to this promise! No joke, but we got into it anyway.)
