By the time you read this blog, you've no doubt heard of ChatGPT. You may have even used it already. If not, and if you're new to ChatGPT, let me first give you a quick introduction: ChatGPT is a powerful algorithm based on machine learning. You can ask it for anything, including writing texts. ChatGPT has many benefits and can help you solve difficult issues, including for your organization. You can read how to make optimal use of ChatGPT for writing business blogs in this blog.

ChatGPT isn't specifically trained on a topic. As a result, the text may lack some expertise, expertise that you can add.

Give ChatGPT an assignment

If you want to give an assignment to a tool like ChatGPT, it's important to be clear.

The more specific you ask a question, the better. Therefore, provide enough context so that the chatbot can understand you better. So it doesn't have to be short and to the point, like a Google search. Please note that the attached context does not make your text unclear.

The program developed by OpenAI was created based on artificial intelligence. It is therefore trained on, and learns from, existing texts that can be found on the internet, among others.

write blogs

I myself, along with many others, had ChatGPT write a blog. What I noticed is that the tool is often repetitive. What's more, it lacks the personal touch. After all, every person has their own unique writing style — ChatGPT doesn't have one. You will therefore have to modify and review the chatbot's information before publishing it. Unfortunately, the program developed by OpenAI cannot (yet) write a good blog all at once. But, it can help you a long way.

Consider the following points when writing with ChatGPT:

  • Indicate how many words an example or piece of text should be;
  • Indicate in what form and tone of voice it should be written;
  • If you have sources, specify that the answer must include them;
  • Indicate which keyword you're using.

3 benefits of ChatGPT for blog writing

  1. Writing is a lot faster, because you don't have to collect all the information yourself. ChatGPT can also summarize reports and studies for you, which saves a lot of time.
  2. ChatGPT can write in a variety of styles and languages. This way, you can easily and quickly adapt your blog to different target groups.
  3. In addition to being fast, ChatGPT is also a real multitasker. You can have multiple conversations with the chatbot at the same time, giving you the ability to create more content.

search engine optimization

Search engine optimization (SEO) is an essential part of a good (business) blog. It ensures that your blog can be found in search engines such as Google. ChatGPT is also aware of the importance of SEO. Whether it is an SEO specialist is still questionable. This is because the chatbot is not specifically trained on SEO. So don't use the tool as your SEO checker, but as your SEO buddy.

ways ChatGPT can help with search engine optimization:

  • Write a setup for the title tags and meta descriptions of blogs;
  • Helping you find potential keywords for a blog;
  • Generate catchy blog titles to choose from.

the disclaimers

As mentioned briefly, the AI-trained chatbot cannot take care of everything flawlessly. ChatGPT can't write like a person like you and me can yet. It therefore remains (for now) necessary to hire a professional to review the text again.

substantively

ChatGPT isn't specifically trained on a topic. As a result, the text may lack some expertise, expertise that you can add. A strong blog in which you share your knowledge reinforces the thought leadership position of your organization.

copyrights

If you do choose to let ChatGPT write your blog, the bot is also the author. But since the chatbot is a machine, it's important to clearly state that it was generated by an AI tool. You want to prevent your readers from recognizing that you didn't write it yourself. Then you come across as unbelievable and your reliability can be questioned. By the way, you are also obliged to comply with the license terms of the tool creator. In the case of ChatGPT, this is OpenAI. Another reason to mention that it was written by ChatGPT.

data and misinformation

The AI-driven chatbot was trained until 2021 — and therefore also on dates up to 2021. ChatGPT's information is therefore not always accurate. So keep doing your own research, especially if you want to incorporate data into your content. If you don't do this and copy the information indiscriminately, you would just end up with false news or misinformation able to share.

In the podcast episode by NRC Today about ChatGPT, this risk of misinformation is also mentioned. The podcast is about ChatGPT fantasizing, as it were. It doesn't know what's right or wrong, it knows what it's learning and generates an answer based on that. So always be critical when using ChatGPT. It's often said: don't believe everything on the internet. The same goes for ChatGPT.

the future of AI blogging tools

Sean Si is an SEO specialist and chief editor at SEO Hacker. In his blog he notes that AI-trained software will play a major role in the world of content writers, but that it will never replace professionals.

Artificial intelligence is here and won't go away. The possibilities are endless and many more tools will be added. See AI as an enrichment that can make work processes easier — not as a threat.

At nxt agency, we already use a number of AI-driven tools. For example, we created a press release with the help of ChatGPT. click here to read the press release.
